The mission of the Museum "White Eagle" is to preserve the cultural heritage related to the history of the army and military, as well as to convey knowledge about the history of the region and its significant contribution to the history of Poland. An important issue is to undertake research on the history of the area of today's city, from the earliest times to the most recent history. Visitors can learn about the history of the center thanks to the exhibition "Skarżysko-Kamienna. City and People", which presents the changes taking place over the course of history, from the earliest times to the political transformation at the end of the 20th century. The entire socio-economic and political transformations have been illustrated with rich source material, which is intended to constitute a kind of guide to the rich history of the city.
An important element of the collection are also exhibits and documents related to the activities of partisan units in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains during the German occupation and those from the times of the so-called People's Republic of Poland. However, for years, the greatest interest has been aroused by the outdoor exhibition, which collects combat equipment used by the Polish army after 1945. An interesting part of this collection is weapons from World War II, recovered from battlefields. The largest ones include the Sturmgeschütz IV self-propelled gun or the chassis of the German PzKpfw V Panther tank.
